KTIK’s Tribal Social Services’ mission is to provide quality services in a respectful and culturally responsive manner that promotes individual, family, and community wellness and stability by supporting strengths, honoring our traditions, fostering positive changes, and sharing the tools needed to embrace our values, strengthen our families, keep our children safe, and promote the health and well-being of the Kickapoo people.
Social Service Programs
FOSTER PARENTS ARE NEEDED FOR OUR TRIBAL CHILDREN
KICKAPOO SOCIAL SERVICES NEEDS THE FOLLOWING: EMERGENCY PLACEMENT, SHORT TERM PLACEMENTS, AND LONG TERM PLACEMENTS.
Some requirements for Foster Parents include:

Must be an enrolled member of Federally Recognized Native American Tribe

Complete Application
-
Must pass a thorough Background check
-
CPR/First Aid Certified. If not must able to obtain certification

Must get a physical with a TB test
-
Must pass home inspection
A Foster Home License can obtained two ways:

If you live within the boundaries of the Kickapoo Tribe in Kansas Reservation you must go through Kickapoo Social Services.

If you live outside the boundaries of the Kickapoo Tribe in Kansas Reservation you will be required to obtain a Foster Home License through Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE)
